INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVES

          Inside sales representatives work with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. They will work to find new leads through business directories and/or client referrals. They will also be responsible in recommending products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • 1) Deliver prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that describe products or services, in order to persuade potential customers to purchase a product or service or to make a donation.

    2) Contact businesses or private individuals by telephone in order to solicit sales for goods or services, or to request donations for charitable causes.
     

    3) Explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from customers.

    4) Obtain customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enter orders into computers.

    5) Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted.
     

    6) Adjust sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals.

    7) Obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from sources such as telephone directories, magazine reply cards, and lists purchased from other organizations.

    8) Answer telephone calls from potential customers who have been solicited through advertisements.

Desired Skills and Experience

This position requires a passionate, organized and goal oriented individual who understands what good customer service is. In addition, the preferred candidate should be/have :

  • At least 18 years of age
  • At least a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate, Bachelor's/College Degree, any field
  • Call center experience is an advantage but not required
  • Excellent telephone manner and listening skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and sit for long periods of time
  • The ability to maintain a positive environment, working with co-workers and customers within a diverse culture
  • Self-motivated to work under his/her own initiative
  • Consistent with performance and expectations
